Hi! I'm Kayla, also known as leather-girl and fiddle-girl, and this is my "about me" section! I am 19, the oldest of 4, and I graduated in 2006. My interests are many and they include knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading, cooking, leather-braiding, all things cowboy ; ), & playing the fiddle, guitar, and mandolin. I have been playing the fiddle for 4 1/2 years, the guitar for 3, and the mandolin for 1, and have concluded that the fiddle is by far my favorite! I love bluegrass music and have attended workshops by Becky Buller, Cherryholmes, & Bobby Hicks. After taking music from Mark Squires of Fayetteville, Ga for 4 years, I credit everything I know to his teaching.
I am also the resident photographer and the newly appointed "webmaster!"
My leather work consists mostly of braiding. I sell keychains, bolo ties, instrument straps, belts, and bullwhips. As there are so many possibilities in braided work, everything I make is made-to-order. All of my hand-braided pieces, with the exception of my whips, are made from the finest calf skin leather! (Whips are crafted from heavy-duty hides.) All items can be made to your specifications and the combinations are endless.
My apron is, of course, hand-made by me as well and is hand-smocked. The gingham, contrasting thread, and the rickrack are all interchangable and can be the color of your choice.
Please remember that all of my items are hand-made and will therefore be individualistic. Also, please allow more time for the more intricate products...bullwhips will take more time to make than will keychains!
